33 week update

Date: June 26, 2013

Kiley and I had a maternity shoot recently in Colorado with a good friend and amazing photographer, Laura Murray.  The photos in this post were taken by her and we couldn't be more thrilled about them!

Next Doctor’s Appointment:  July, 2013
Baby’s size: DURIAN! …whatever that is…  We went to the doctor yesterday and they told us that our girl is 4 pounds, 11 ounces. She’s exactly average sized and will likely gain 2 more pounds before delivery in 5 weeks.

How far along:  33 weeks.  Keeping up with these blogs has become increasingly difficult as I struggle to live out of a suitcase prepare to move into a new home and complete my stacks of school work!!!
Total weight gain: +24 pounds.  Current weight: 134
Sleep:  Staring to get up 3 times a night to pee.  I also get round ligament pain more often. It’s crazy that the notorious hard time sleeping has finally hit me.  I stay up at night just thinking of all there is to do before the baby comes.  I’m sure that keeps me up at night as well.
Maternity Clothes:  No new clothes, but I feel like nothing fits.
 Food cravings: Fruit Fruit Fruit
Food aversions: Still no food aversions
Symptoms I have: Sleepy, achey, Braxton hicks, can’t move around as easily, shortness of breath
Movement: lots of movement
Belly Button: outie
Gender:  Sweet girl.
Best moment of the week:  I get to go to CO tomorrow to see my family one last time before the babe comes.  My mama has been working so hard to throw me a baby shower and I couldn’t be more antsy to get back home!!! I leave for the airport at 4am… I think a cup of coffee will be in order! haha
What I miss:  I’m really enjoying every moment of life. Everything is moving so fast lately.  I need to allow myself to stop and smell the roses… take it all in… I am carrying my child inside me and it is only going to last a little longer…  I am incredibly blessed.

Additional Details:   less than 50 days to go!

31 & 32 Week Update

Date: June 20, 2013

Next Doctor’s Appointment:  June 25, 2013
 Baby’s size: HONEYDEW!

How far along:  32 weeks.  I missed my 31 week blog, I know.  Life has been crazy with this move from one state to another! I have had to switch doctors, of course.  Right now, we are in a temporary location while we finalize a few things with our new home.  I've also been grinding hard, working the last few months of my Business degree. We will be living out of our suitcases for a little while but we are so excited for the next couple of months!
Total weight gain: +23 pounds.  Current weight: 133… trying to stay active and keep track of my nutrition.  I hope nursing will help me slim back down after delivery!
Sleep:  I have no problems sleeping.  I am so in love with my sleep haha
Maternity Clothes:  No new clothes.
Food cravings: I am still loving fruit.  I have been on another peach kick.  I love peaches! Of course chocolate chip cookies always sound great, too...
Food aversions: Still no food aversions
Symptoms I have: I have had a few Braxton hicks contractions! Contrary to what I have been told, they aren’t painful for me at all.  Lots of pressure (especially on my lungs) and a really, really tight belly (it gets all distorted and I can see exactly wheat position the babe is in... pretty neat!), but no pain whatsoever.  They are actually a really exciting feeling.  I am getting excited for labor and delivering my sweet girl into this world.  Though I am excited to meet her, get exhausted and uncomfortable, I will never wish this time away, carrying my child inside me… I am reminded of this sweet miracle and blessing every single day.  I love it so much.
Movement: I’m feeling less flips and more stretches from her lately.  It’s getting to be pretty tight quarters in there for her!
Belly Button: Loving my little outie
Gender:  Sweet girl.
Best moment of the week:  MOVING!!! The next month is going to be so crazy with all of the moving we will be doing, as we are in a temporary spot for now, but I am overwhelmingly excited for it all!
What I miss:  I’m really enjoying every moment of life. I am incredibly blessed.
What I’m looking forward to:  I am looking forward to every moment of the future… Lord, help me never lose sight of the amazing blessings you have given me.  I will never deserve the life I’ve been given but I promise to live each day to my absolute fullest potential.

Additional Details:   8 MONTHS PREGNANT!!! 8 WEEKS TO GO!  (…probably less…)

How far along:  30 weeks. I still have a feeling I will deliver at 38 wee! Fingers crossed. I am ready to meet her.
Total weight gain: +20 pounds.  Current weight: 130
Sleep:  I still love my sleep! Growing a baby takes a lot of energy.
Maternity Clothes:  No new clothes.
Food cravings: Nothing that I can think of. I have been watching my nutrition a lot lately and tracking it on my phone.
Food aversions: Still no food aversions
Symptoms I have: My feet swell up more often lately, but I refuse to give up my heels.  I like dressing up. I am also growing quite round haha I have weird vivid dreams and shortness of breath.  I can feel pressure on my lungs more often lately. Loving pregnancy.
Movement: She is getting bigger and stronger.  Sometimes I am caught off guard at how strong she can be! Her kicks don’t hurt though.  I love them.
Belly Button: outie and flattening out a little bit haha
Gender:  Sweet little girl.  My sugar.
Best moment of the week:  We are road tripping to CO this week.  I can’t wait for all of the fun things planned while we are there!
What I miss:  Nothing new this week.  I’m really enjoying life.
What I’m looking forward to:   I am looking forward to all of our plans for the trip to CO.  We have a 4D ultrasound, a maternity photo shoot, a stay in Denver, a scenic drive through the Rocky Mountains, a rehearsal dinner for my cousin’s wedding, MY COUSIN’S WEDDING!!! (eek, can’t wait), one of my bestie’s daughter’s 1st birthday party and another photo shoot.  What an amazing week with friends and family it will be!!!

29 Week Update

Date: May 30, 2013

Next Doctor’s Appointment:  June 12, 2013
Baby’s size:  Baby is the size of an Acorn Squash! Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, she weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but she's still got a ways to go -- can you believe she will double in weight before birth?

http://scmedia.theknot.com/~/media/EFD0995DD54B49D68031BE8AA67C4FAC.ashx

How far along:  29 weeks. I still have a feeling I will deliver at 38 weeks…
Total weight gain: +20 pounds.  Current weight: 130
Sleep:  I still love my sleep! Growing a baby takes a lot of energy.
Maternity Clothes:  I got two new dresses to wear for the weddings & rehearsal dinners I have coming up in the next two weeks! Neither dress is a maternity dress, they’re both just a little bigger.  One is a size xs (??? I have no idea… It was on sale, so I think it is mislabeled) and the other is a size 4 (sounds about right).  They will be too big after pregnancy but they’re super cute on my belly right now.
Food cravings: A little bit of everything… I got a new app on my phone to make sure I’m taking in mostly protein rich foods every day.  I want to keep my carb & fat intake at a minimum.  Kiley and I have also been regular about throwing the Frisbee at the park most days of the week.  At home, I have a little workout circuit I have been doing to maintain tone in my legs, arms and core.
Food aversions: Still no food aversions
Symptoms I have: Nothing new, really.  Loving pregnancy.
Movement: This girl is certainly growing (if you can’t tell by the weight gain above, I’m still on my 2 pound per week streak… yippee).  I can feel her moving around quite a bit.  I love it.  Although she is getting very strong, her kicks don’t wake me up at night which leads me to believe one of two things: 1) when I sleep, I sleep HARD or 2) she is calm and a sound sleeper.  I’m hoping #2 is the case for my lack of being woken up at night.  I truly believe this girl is going to be a calm babe.
Belly Button: outie!
Gender:  girl!!!
Best moment of the week:  Went to the doctor yesterday and found out that my uterus is about 1.5 to 2 weeks larger than they should be.  This means that my inclination about delivering in the 38th week may not be so far off after all!
What I miss:  I always miss my family in CO and I also always long for days at the beach!
What I’m looking forward to:   Of course sleeping on my belly, having better balance, a better memory and getting my body into the best shape of my life are all things I look forward to within the next TWO months!
Additional Details:  77 days til my due date! Baby is about 17 inches from head to toe and likely about 3 pounds.

28 Week Update

Date: May 25, 2013

Next Doctor’s Appointment:  May 29, 2013
Baby’s size:  Baby is the size of a Chinese cabbage!

How far along:  28 weeks! I have a feeling I will deliver at 38 weeks… maybe I am just excited to meet her!
Total weight gain: +18 pounds.  Current weight: 128
Sleep:  I sleep pretty well, still.  No complaints. I have been loving my sleep!
Maternity Clothes:  No new maternity clothes, just making my pre-pregnancy wardrobe work.
Food cravings: A little bit of everything…
 Food aversions: none
Symptoms I have: Round ligament pains and exhaustion have been the name of the game this week.  I have also experienced my first few pregnancy leg cramps.  They happen at night and always in my right calf.
Movement: Since she’s head down already, I feel a lot more pelvic floor pressure and I think that’s probably a contributing factor to the increasing amount of round ligament pain as well.  I have also still been gaining 2 pounds per week so I assume she’s growing quite a bit in there.
Belly Button: outie!
Gender:  girl!!!
Best moment of the week:  This week I will complete my school term and I am on track for straight A’s again.  I start my second summer term on Monday.  I temporarily deactivated my facebook account this week until I get further along with my degree.  I need to be focusing in on my education and preparing for my daughter to arrive within the next couple of months!
What I miss:  I miss the salt water, the crash of the waves on the shore and sand between my toes.  I miss the beach!!!
What I’m looking forward to: I’m looking forward to Kiley’s sister Kalena’s wedding and my cousin Katrina’s wedding in the next two weeks!!!
Additional Details:  I have been pregnant for 197 days! My baby is almost 16 inches tall (nearly as tall as she will be at birth!), and almost 3 pounds.
